A More Reliable Way to Track Vision Health

Diabetes can affect the eyes in subtle ways, often before vision changes are noticeable. That’s why routine eye exams with retinal imaging are essential. At our Marina Del Rey office, we manage diabetic eye care. That means you’ll see a provider who tracks your eye health over time, using diagnostic imaging to document changes and respond early when something shifts. We also coordinate with your primary care doctor or endocrinologist when needed, and we’re able to provide reports or records for ongoing care.

What We Evaluate During a Diabetic Eye Exam at Eyes of the Marina Optometry

  • Signs of diabetic retinopathy, including blood vessel changes and microaneurysms
  • Macular edema (fluid near the center of vision)
  • Retinal thickness and structure, via OCT imaging
  • Optic nerve health and intraocular pressure, for glaucoma screening
  • Early cataract changes, which can develop earlier in diabetic patients

We use dilation and in-office imaging to get a clear view of your retinal health and establish a baseline for future visits.

Why Ongoing Diabetic Retinopathy Monitoring Matters

Diabetic eye disease often progresses without symptoms. The goal is not just to check your vision, but to catch early structural changes before vision loss occurs.

Seeing the same provider each year also means we know what has changed and what hasn’t.

Schedule a Diabetic Eye Exam in Marina Del Rey

We see diabetic patients for annual eye exams, post-diagnosis baseline evaluations, and follow-up care as needed.

If you’re unsure how often you should be seen or whether your current exam covers everything, we’re happy to take a closer look.
